National Flag and Display was proud to have been selected to produce the “Opening Ceremony Flag” for the 2016 Rio Olympics. The Olympic Flag was created by Pierre de Coubertin in 1914. The Flag is white with five interlaced rings in the center. The rings symbolize the five parts of the world in which the Olympic movement was active. Those five colors and white were chosen because they incorporated the colors of all national flags in existence at the time the Olympic flag was created.
