National Flag & Banner produces custom banners for 2013 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree.

For more than 20 years, the tree was part of the everyday life for the Vargoshe family at their Connecticut home. Now they are sharing the 76-foot-tall piece of their family with the world, as it will serve as the tree that will illuminate Rockefeller Center for the 81st time this year. The 12-ton Norway spruce, which is 76 feet tall, 47 feet in diameter, and approximately 75 years old, arrived at Rockefeller Plaza in preparation for the annual lighting ceremony that will be held on Dec. 4. The Vargoshe couple, Louise and John, and sons Nathan, 15, and Noah, 12, made the trip from their home in Shelton, Conn., to Rockefeller Plaza to say goodbye to their tree one last time.

National Flag selected to manufacture custom banners for The 2nd Annual CBGB Music & Film Festival multi-stage concert spanning 9 city blocks on Broadway in Times Square, NYC. Five stages located on Broadway showcased over two dozen bands, artists and performers which included Lisa Loeb, The Wallflowers, Divine Fits, James Murphy, djset, Grizzly Bear and My Morning Jacket.

National Flag & Display produces custom banners for Diana Nyad swim marathon at Macy’s at Herald Square (NYC).

National Flag & Display was selected to produce custom banners for long-distance swimmer Diana Nyad’s swim marathon 48-hour event at Macy’s at Herald Square (NYC) to help raise money for Superstorm Sandy survivors in a 40-yard pool set up at a busy Manhattan intersection.

The 63-year-old athlete raised more than $100,000 during her two-day event.  She was joined by volunteers who each signed up to swim a few laps alongside her during the ordeal.  The fundraising sidekicks included gold medalist Ryan Lochte, fitness guru Richard Simmons and Roscoe, a dog who survived hurricane Sandy’s floodwaters.
